Any sign of the 560 bios to try on a 460 yet?? - Page 4

The 460 is one of the cards to be proud of. Why would you want to risk bricking it?

Just OC it and look after it smile.gif

Is there anything else beneficial to flashing?

http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/917946-gtx-460-vs-560-what-will.html

Dont be a fool and think if my hardware has a nice picture saying its a 560 or "Superclock" (Which you can Sharpie onto the card), it will go faster. Its like saying putting a playing card on the spokes of my tire will make it go faster tongue.gif

You will be surprised to find out that your gtx 580 is in fact just a G86 with gddr5 and more shaders. ( unified shader architecture )

Am I missing something or are the specs worse after the flash that emreonal69 did?

That seems cool.

I have changed the original gigabyte F3 bios, increased core and memory(900/1080) clock, unlocked voltage(1.21v max) and fan also increased core voltage(1.087v)

emreonal69, could you please post the 560 bios somewhere. I trust your results but I am so eager in trying this on my 460 although it is ASUS and not Giga.

Also I am kindly asking anyone owning 560 to post their bioses here so that I (we) can keep trying and see what kind of results can be expected with various bioses.

Thank you so much.

One interesting thing to note is that the GF114 core is pin for pin compatible with the GF104 core. This means quite a few board partners will be shoe horning the new core onto their own custom GTX 460 PCBs. Others like EVGA have decided to stick with the reference design as seen in the pictures on this page and will be rightfully billing their cards as “true” GTX 560 Ti products.

Thread Starter
pin for pin compatible - IT IS A REBRANDED GF 104 lol. Tanks for the input guys. I wonder if I can get the msi 560 hawk bios and flash one of my cards to see what happens. Would someone post a link for a guide as ive no idea what im doing.

Thanks againfolks. The fact that it works is quite pleasing, maybe different bios` will unlock the cluster, or maybe some cards generally do have a gimped 8th cluster, and some dont! only time will tell
