Unless you are a dye hard Nvidia fan HD 6950 is still the better card to get. One thing that interest me is the OC potential it got.

Nice cards. Would make a great sidegrade from my 5850.
looks like a decent card.... But AMD just released the 1gb 6950 for same price

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-921-_-Product

and with the big driver release amd has for tommarrow I would wait and see what the overal picture is......think we will see the 6950 pull away from the 560

I dunno, it's the same card as the regular 6950 so I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow's patch is just a bug fix.

Nvidia freaks are really going crazy here. Now, seriously why would you want to buy a card that cost so much compared to it predecessor and it only offer so little performance. If I own a GTX460 1Gb today I would rather choose to not upgrade as it doesn't benefit much and AMD has a more competitive 6950 as an option at a similar price point. Disappointed, Nvidia, very disappointed just come on drop that $50 and I will choose to upgrade from my 9600GSO which I have been using for nearly 3 years already. But sorry Nvidia you just lost another customer. Btw I'm not saying anything to offend Nvidia fanboys it just my personal opinion. Guess I will have to wait a bit longer for 'Maxwell' based GPUs.

This whole generation was like that. GTX470/GTX480 to GTX570/580 were only 15% performance increase but much better build and better coolers. GTX460->GTX560 has a bit more performance 33% but thats it same cooler. Nvidia is trying to get DX10 users like 8800GT/S/X Ultra and lower to get this new card not current DX11 users.
