Does one stick work?

Thread Starter
One stick of ram is dead, I think because I am getting all sorts of errors, and it could not pass the ram test. I just ordered a new set of ram but it won’t arrive here until late Friday. My mobo has 4 Slots, can I use one stick of ram for now? I can try it after work but just want to know whether I can do this or not. Thanks.

Sure, 1 RAM stick will work, what size is it?

The manual says that I have to use two. I have AData 2x1GB DDR2 800. Only one is good now.

I think the only problem is if you have less Ram than your operating system requires to run (64bit Win7 min. I think is around 1.5Gb). Then your system will be very laggy and not run well.

He's using Vista 32-bit. It'll run fine on 2GB until his new RAM Arrives.

So I can just order another stick with specs, and don't need to get a new set of 2x1GB. Right?

Yep, sorry didn't see you were running Vista 32, you just need another stick and you'll be absolutely fine.

It looks like I have to call them to see if they can change the order to 1 stick. Otherwise, I have 3 sticks.
