Spending even $20 more for anything else is truly a waste... But if you wanna spend any more money at all, then get a 1600 kit for $105 (-15%), there's always the off chance that you might end up using it in some future system where the stock RAM speed is 1600 rather than 1333 or something... Anything more expensive is just tossing money out the window tho. I'm shocked at the truly awful recommendations...

Man..... I think I am going to give up........there are so many articles, posts, opinions on what is good and what is not, and there are of course those that contradict. I just want decent 1600MHz RAM that will OC to 1866MHz if I want them to and will do well on Sandy Bridge. And if the extra money is not worth upgrading to the ECO or CAS 7 Ripjaw X then I will decide between the Snipers and the regular RipJaws.

Pull the trigger.

Buy these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231431 get your 15% off and don't worry about it.

if you debate anymore on it I say scrap the idea or you're gonna stress over it. Plus this is what they make credit cards for.

i just got ocz platinum 8GB 6-8-6-24 1600MHz for $110 shipped from the egg.

I absolutely hate OCZ because of their gold line reputation, but I didn't see many bad reviews with the Platinum.

Another thing of note is OCZ stopped making RAM.

Bought 16GB of these GSkill RipJaws X 1600 with CAS 8 (Sweet Spot) and 1.5V. CAS 7 vs 8 is little to no real world difference. Good middle ground with plenty of room to overclock to 1866. Thanks guys.
