Run GPU-Z. It will show whether your clocks are staying at what you set them. When I first got 260.99 drivers I just updated from an earlier set on my laptop and despite OCing the 260.99s would drop my clocks if I didn't tell them to prefer maximum performance when certain programs were launched. I was nice to finally have a powersaving option that actually worked from nvidia but this has been a problem with performance ever since.
EDIT: I also never had Precision work with anything but EVGA cards for me. I know it's supposed to work with other brands but it never did for me. I once had it where raising the clock speeds did the opposite. But I am Murphy's Law incarnate.
EDIT about the power clocking thing: Yes they did. My 9800GTSm did. Maybe that was just a mobile thing but I believe my friend had the option when he got his 9800GT.Edited by Rookie1337 - 1/25/11 at 8:45am
