turn off "cool and quiet" and LLC first, as well as any other power saving options in the bios first

edit: 0.988v is the stock voltage for an i5 2500k

Shouldn't coretemp list the VID?

the power saving options in your bios are down-volting your card when you don't need all it's speed. this helps save on heat and reduces wear on your card. if you want to manually control voltage instead, you will need to turn off all of the asus power saving options.

if i was at home i could take pics of the bios on a build im doing for a customer right now, but im at school right now.

good luck man

cpu-z does NOT tell you stock voltage or VID. it only tells you actual voltage.

in Core Temp, if the VID value changes, the default voltage is the highest of the values

^That is powersaving features in action right there. .9 for a vcore is proof. I'll see if I can intice a SBer to help you out. Because the BIOS options are all nicely renamed in SB mobos for some reason.

EDIT: Check out this guide and sin should be able to help you.
