Card or Monitor?

Thread Starter
I am sitting on a best buy giftcard, and I am debating between a graphics card update or a monitor update. Currently i have a 512mb 4850. It overclocks really well, I have it at 772/1085.

I can either go with a 5770/5830 / gts450/275(?) , or I can upgrade my tiny 17 inch monitor. I was thinking 20-22 inches, 1600x900 probably.

What do, Overclock?

Monitor for sure, the 4850 still packs a pretty decent punch, and isn't really that much slower than a 5770. You would also enjoy it on a larger screen much more, but make sure you get something at least 1680 x 1050 but preferably 1920 x 1080 (both of which are fairly cheap now in the 20 - 22" range)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009275 - $135, free shipping, and 1920 x 1080. Your card should be enough to run most games on a medium setting It will also look fantastic for movies! Oh yes, and its 21.5"

Monitor, easily. Way too many "hardcore" enthusiasts rolling with $1,000 SLI GTX 480s running on a tinny $200 TN monitor.
