According to what I read you need a sound CCFL inverter, you have a regular totally staying ON or OFF CCFL inverter.

So the closest you'll get is flickering off/on your desk lamp I guess.

so there is no "wiring mod" i can do? like hook it up to my sound card???

I'm no expert on this as I never had interest in music flickering of cathodes, but from what I read I don't think so.

Unless someone else here with knowledge on this can say otherwise.

You might be able to do something like this?
I know my sound-activated lights aren't too impressive. They have to be set to extremes to detect anything. At one extreme, it needs the deepest bass to set it off. At the other, me typing on my keyboard sets it off.

PS: You can only bump once/day.
