Couple of audio quick questions

Thread Starter
I need some help with some questions if someone can help (obviously someone can it's OCN).

1) I found what appears to be a brand new Sennheiser PC151 Stereo Headset (not USB), I must have bought them a long time ago because I don't remember buying them (I've always used my old PS2 Socom USB Mic lol). Are these somewhat woohoo worthy? They could be a different set but they are in the model 150-160 range and I can't find anything written on them to identify them.

2) I find I have a crap load of background noise on my headsets using the on-board sound via the case head phones output, would a sound card filter this out?

Thanks, in advance.

it is likely a soundcard would filter the noise out

#2 - It depends on where the noise is coming from.

Test the headphones on another source to make sure it isn't the internals of the headset. More than likely, a dedicated sound card will clear that up. Filter out isn't quite accurate, as the sound card probably won't produce the interference to begin with.

it could potentially be a windows/driver issue, but that is less likely than the onboard audio simply being sub par.
