Have to also agree on the G500. Love it.

You could just buy another G5 from Ebay or somewhere else.

I love my G5 but I've been experiencing a few issues too. I'll probably be grabbing a G500.

I picked up a g500 because my g5v2 was dying. It's heavier, the weight isn't balanced, the shape isn't 100% the same, the scroll wheel is horrible, the extra side button is awkward, the sensor quality is random (took me three tries to get one that didn't have massive lift off jitter - this is a known QA issue according to their forums, but Logitech doesn't seem to care). Give me a g5v3, please.

I went from a G5 to a G500, now I'm using the R.A.T. 9.

Do you have proof of these claims? I have never heard of this and the G500 has amazing reviews across the board. I would like to see links to these forums.

Also if you got the mouse once and didn't like it at all why would you ever take it back not once but twice and get the same one again? just sayin.....

He speaks the truth, but I have to disagree with him about the scroll wheel.

The G500 weights 120grams without weights and seems slightly heavier than it's predecessor, the G5 (most likely at 100-110G). Unlike the G5, the sensor position and center of gravity are shifted towards the top forcing you to use weights to balance the mouse out to your liking. If you happen to be a low sens gamer and use your arm reposition and move, you'll most likely prefer a $10 Wheel Mouse Optical due to the unnecessary weight and "feel" the g500 produces.

The sensor performance of the Avago 9500 is great, but if you're sensitive to positive and negative acceleration, you don't really want to pair this mouse up with a cloth pad. If you use a hard surface, the sensor has an untouchable malfunction rate of over 4.19m/s, while the G5's Avago 6010's first generation laser malfunctions really early making it a useless contender to most competitive low sens gamers.

If you use your wrist, chances are the g500 is your new best friend after you get situated and adjusted.

Sensor performance: G500
Body/Shape/Weight :G5
What would I use? Neither, they don't fit my playing style.
