Upon Card Removal, Can Only Hear Out One Ear

Thread Starter
Yesterday's episode of "Derposaurus' Fail Sound":

http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...ng-loudly.html

In today's episode, we present to you a whole new dilemma! Derposaurus, fed up with his hissing sound card (Xonar DG), removed both the driver and the card itself. Then he switched back to onboard audio.

However, now with onboard audio he can only hear out of the RIGHT headphone and gets absolutely nothing from the left one. This has never happened to him before, and it is definitely NOT a headphone problem because he tried them with his iPod and both sides are in perfect shape.

Has Derposaurus' Xonar DG permanently crippled his onboard audio? Is this THE END!?!?! Tune in and type your responses! You may just save a computer!

The CD declared that my Xonar DG was not plugged in and therefore would not continue installation.

The problem remains the same.

Upon replugin and driver installation the humming immediately restarted in the right ear cup. But now I can hear out of both ear cups. o__o

Now let's see if I remove the card and keep the driver going.

I tried to keep the Xonar driver installed with the onboard audio switched on. Nope, failed.

The Digital Audio device in my settings never produces any sound, sound only ever comes through the Speakers device.

I'm thinking I probably misplugged something in the mobo somewhere, but I'm not sure.

So now I'm going to uninstall the Xonar driver and see if onboard somehow corrected itself.
