Confused about jacks

Thread Starter
Hi members of OCN,

I have just inherited a sound card from a friend who just left the country. I believe that it is this one,

http://us.store.creative.com/Sound-B...B000IZC0GO.htm

My question is that do i plug in the audio jack into the green jack of the sound card? Because when i do, no sound comes out. However the microphone works fine when i plug it into the soundcard

Do you have the drivers for the card installed, and selected as your primary audio device?

Self-powered speakers are indeed supposed to be connected to that jack which is right next to the blue one (right next to the Mic jack).
