This is driving me insane

I have q6600 oc'ed to 3ghz and 2g of ram. Now, when im on idle doing NOTHING and just running cpu z and real temp, the load is at constant 22%. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? I disabled everything on startup, so NOTHING should be running. I dont understand this.

i would reinstall CPU-z. If this doesnt change, try core temp. If its the same, reseat.

but the windows task manager is also showing 21% as well... Are you suggesting that faulty cpu z or real temp is the reason why its eating so much cpu power?

Open up Task manager and look in the processes tab for whatever is consuming the most CPU cycles.

Check "Show processes from all users" and click on the "CPU" category so it lines up all the processes based on what they're consuming.
