iPhone 4 vs Droid - Page 4

Being a owner of a iPhone 3G &/4 and the Droid &/X I think. The iPhone is very limited. Its more of an app handler and less of an OS. Android is much more of an OS. Its is the closest mobile OS to a PC. Very easy to use, no extra software to get things onto the phone. Android has real multitasking. Android customization is really easy to do, not so with the iPhone. Even then customizing things on the iPhone is very limited and harder to do. This hole thing of Apples apps being better or more stable is not true. That is something that Apple just made up for their TV commercials. Like Apple is more secure and they don't get viruses (iBotNet/Pwn2Own), or like they don't crash (gray screen of death). I've just about had the same amount of problems if not more with the iPhone when it comes to apps. Android is open source, and that makes things so much easier when is come to hacking, modding, themes, custom OS's (roms), rooting, overclocking, and installing apps. Android is hands down better than iOS and the iPhone. With all that said I would wait for a Tegra 2 Droid.

For the people saying "wait for summertime if you want to go iPhone"

...It isn't even confirmed that Verizon will be getting it off the bat, From what I've seen its rumored its going to take verizon a while to get it.

Seems like a bad idea to wait if I want an iPhone.. I'm afraid 5 will come out but not on verizon for a good half a year or something and I'll still be stuck with this crap LG Voyager for WAY longer than anticipated.

Or you could jump on a phone now and be stuck with it for a year/2 years that'll be outdated REALLY fast when you could have waited a few more months and gotten the most future proof phone (though everything is relative and I'm sure that technology will be taken out in a year from now or so..but it wouldn't be as bad as the leap from now and a few months I assume).

He has a Voyager, you need a 30 dollar smartphone plan for a X or Fascinate. Voyager's a 2G non-data plan phone (or at least a 10-15 dollar data plan one at best). Unless you can just pay more for that feature without getting a data plan, but I'm not too keen on that.

Just dont ask these questions here.. Whoever has an iphone will tell you iphone, whoever has android will tell you driod.. obviously..

What I'd do is find friends who have both and experiment on them.. Look, feel.. you cant get that from here or any website.. goodluck

But seriously ive owned both and without a shadow of a doubt i prefer all that the iphone could do for me. Sure the android does it all too but in a much uglier way.

I've had both -- I pick Android because of how robust it is - it's more for the social people or those looking for just more features in a phone. The iPhone has way more apps and some are pretty cool that Android doesn't have, and vice versa.

I feel Android has a lot more 'useful' apps than what iphone does, but to each their own
