can someone recommend me a PSU for the following rig.

Thread Starter
Its in my Sig, but i want to add another 570gtx and i had a 285gtx lying around so i wana use that as physx.

I looked at the Rosewise 1k watt one, it comes with 6 x 6/8 pin's which are enough however it only offers 70A on the 12V line which i am not 100% on.

I used extreme PSU calculator and punched in 570gtx SLI at 100% system load and it recommends 770watts and i figured 1K watts would be a little more than enough for the additional 280gtx.

570GTX will be at 8x each
285gtx will be at 4x [it is just lying around i dun wana waste it : ) ]

The rest of my spec is in the sig.

thanks for reading my relatively long post and responding!

To power this, a quality 750W would really be enough. How much can you spend on the PSU?

Also, adding in the GTX 280 as PhysX won't increase the power draw that much because of what it is going to be used for. However, it'll be an unnecessary addition to the system since having two GTX 570s will be way more than enough processing power.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...XFX-_-17207001 that should be enough for your needs and just use a molex to pci converters for the physx card becuase you hardly use any power for physx cards

oh ok, what do you guys think of the kingwin z-1000? it's cheaper than the xfx one and offers the 3rd set of PCI-E connectors.

Molex to PCI-E would be fine for an physx card right?

also i'm not 100% set about this i just wanted to know what i would need if i ever decide to go sli and physx.

I don't want to spend too much. I think 100-150$ would be fine.

jonny guru gave it a 8.5 assuming you mean the lz-1000

However don't forget that xfx also has a 40 dollar mail in rebate, and yes Molex to PCI-E would be fine for an physx card

If that's the budget range, then I recommend these:
