I tried nearly everything I can think of, even tried bumping the voltage to 1.2.

Hey guys, Ive got a question about the Grainward GTX 460 768 MB video card.
Is it a good choice for a GTX 460? The price is really acceptable and I plan to buy it
in the future.. is Gainaward good? AFAIK, Gainaward is a very good brand when it
comes to graphics card, but I don't see many people using them:| So what do you
think? I watched a review of the card @ Unlock3D and I heard only positive things,
but I wanna ask you! so ?

well for the extra bucks you can get the 1gb version, which is better in some game that need higher vram like GTA and many others but if money is tight then the 768 does very well it is dx11 and can be overclocked like mad to match even the 480 in sli mode (meaning I am running two 460's and get the same if not better FPS as two stock 480's) I own both and like my 460 system best just my fav. it was the underdog cost me the least to build (minus the water cooling lol) and out did all others IMO so you feel easy with a 460 purchase as it is one of the best performers out there

Edit: P.S. try and get the original version not the SE as the SE does not have the same spec's but still preforms

Okay, will do that!Thank you.. so, what is the price difference between the 768MB and 1GB versions? I am happy to hear that this would be a good choice! I couldn't find the price of the gainward gtx 460 1GB, I only found some gtx 465 1GB that was not much more expensive(like $10).

Well the 465 is a completely different card! I don't know if it is still possible but from what I've seen the 465 can unlock to a 470 but not shore about that plus it runs much hotter than the 460! that is a problem you need to look at air flow in your case, before you get it. I don't know enough about the 465 to tell you but it was not a big seller, that I know

Sure, I don't know much about the 465 either.. I just could not find the 1 GB version of the GF GTX 460 (Gainward). Do you know what is the price difference between 768mb/1gb?

why are you stuck on Gainward? is that your favorite manufacture? I think that msi and asus make the best now and you can never go wrong with evga, or even the pliat (mite be wrong spelling on that one) are very good and I think that pliat and gigabyte have made a 2gb version you just need to look around for the best price/cooling 460 they all are very good but some are better

Did you mean Palit? Well, as I said in my first post, the Gainward one is pretty cheap and I couldn't find any cheaper GTX 460 768MB @ my country. (except the Palit one, it is a lil bit cheaper)..That's why I choosed the Gainward, but this is just an option.. Yeah I know eVGA,mSi, asus are great brands but they require heavier pocket.. But Gainward is good too, isn't it? As far as I know, Palit->Gainward.
