One gigahertz? WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN...

Voltage 1.165 and I am running 1 GHz at ease. My default voltage is 0.962 and with it I can make it until 880 MHz stable under Win7. The Max with the same voltage under XP is 870 Mhz so there is a difference between the two OSs in terms of overclockability of GTX 460. When I bench at this frequency (1 GHz) I ramp the fan at 80% and the temps never go beyond 60 C. Never tried above 1 GHz although with 1.2 voltage I am sure I can make it further. The max on the memory is 1075 though although my card is equipped with Hynix memory chips (rated 1250 Mhz).

the only diff with the one ive got mate is that its clocked higher at stock and something else too but i forgot tongue.gif

Everything is the same between TOP and normal except the bios settings and the shroud color (older models). The latest models all come in one flavor and that is black shroud with green stripes. The PCB is completely the same for TOP and normal.

But then, a lot of 460 users are just lucky to hit above 900 Core at 1.15+ volts while most crap out at 880-900. Only a select few could go beyond 950, as far as what I've seen. What's the secret of your card :O

There is no special secret, I guess I got lucky with the GPU (its series). I am thinking about water cooling for this baby and a volt mod to it although I am so much in love that I am not willing to drive it fast through the curves. biggrin.gif

3DMark11 scores

Driver 260.99

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/420985

P6863 3DMarks for 2 x Palit Sonic Platinum GTX460 SLI at standard clocks

And then with MSI Afterburner bumping it to 1087mV, Core 878MHz, Shader 1756MHz, Memory 2098, resulted in:

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/421044

P7353 3DMarks

Driver 266.35 using Geforce_SLI_Profile_Tool to import 3dMark11 Profile

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/434740

And then with MSI Afterburner bumping it to 1087mV, Core 878MHz, Shader 1756MHz, Memory 2098, resulted in:

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/434777

P7424 3DMarks

Of course, with 266.35 Beta also got the "Your result has the following problem(s) and will not be shown for example on leaderboards: Graphics driver is not approved"

New 266.58 WHQL - SLI recognised, but not drivers.

P7430 3DMarks with MSI Afterburner bumping it to 1087mV, Core 878MHz, Shader 1756MHz, Memory 2098

Still got "Your result has the following problem(s) and will not be shown for example on leaderboards: Graphics driver is not approved" even though it is an official WHQL release.

How are you getting the higher voltage? I've seen the modded BIOS for other brands but I'm hesitant to use a modded Giga or EVGA Bios on my Asus. Any guides for modding the Asus BIOS out there ?
