[Official] Geforce GTX 460 Club - Page 192

That is what I have. I just bought it, and I bought 2gbs of 667 ram a while ago. I'm confused at the competing with consoles comment, because it seems almost purposefully unreasonable and silly. As backstory, I've been struggling using computers for pretty much my entire life on laptops and older crap, and this computer already runs pretty smoothly, albeit when a new tab or something pops up which makes the ram shoot to red (according to my monitor). My processor never gets too overwhelmed. I'm just having trouble with the reality that my processor would struggle that hard against most games, because of Dragon Age 2 running on max almost flawlessly. Wouldn't seem like I'd need all of that new stuff just to get a better, DX11-included (it was DX11) experience than consoles. I mean, of course I'd uprage, but just how much is needed?

Not trying to be disrespectful, as I do appreciate all of this. Those prices are very enticing, and I might have to bump up my budget for upgrading today. Just need things explained I guess. Fighting off sleep to get my hours straight. Blargh.

Idk how great that ram is I've never even heard of team elite xD But lifetime warranty so just check the specs of the warranty, for like 20 dollars more you can get ripjaws.

ok what everyone is trying to say is that to run computer gaming graphics at the higher level that they are written at well above PS3 and xbox360 you need everything to be at least able to work together even though your graphic card is able to do DX11 your Intel chip can not process the info coming from it at speeds worth playing at descent settings!

Now I have never played Dragon age II but I find it hard to believe that one 460 and a Pent D 2.8 stock clocked run it at 40~60 fps avg. at 1080p if it does it most likely is a none extensive game and if that is the only game you plan to play then cool!

I play all kinds of games and running my phenom II x4 970be (which stock is 3.5) at 4.44ghz and two gtx460's 1gb versions in sli overclocked almost as high as you can get and I have a hard time in some games running 1080p

and another thing is computer games are much more than you would ever believe better than gaming consoles and I have them all so I m not only a President I am a client oops sorry that is from a commercial has nothing to do here lol

Yeah, I don't mean 1080p, but I was about 200 pixels away from 720, which is what my tv is. It ran a solid 40 at least. Really smooth. Unless some kind of new fire animation would appear, then it would stutter. Every time. I figured that was ram.

Well. alright. I'll see what I can weasel to get those.

if you get a chance go to youtube as the gameplay on there is recorded and that is only 30fps which any graphic card + cpu combo can do for video and look up ARMA gameplay or BLACK OPS PC gameplay or even Dragon age max settings gmeplay and see what they see for FPS and graphics
post #1917 of 4095
like this is a great example

if you look those are medium settings with a much newer cpu and a lot more mem then you have

Didn't have any AA. Figured that's what would bog it down. On benchmarks for Black Ops, dual core gives you like 15-20 fps no matter the card, so even if I get a new one, I'm screwed there.

I've been scouring places like Techspot. If I get a processor soon I'm thinking that x3.

Anyway, these old Saturn games are out of my house. I've been needing an excuse to get rid of them.

IF you get into computer gaming you will never go back to ps3 or xbox360 or even the new gen coming out as the ps4 will still only be dx10 and have only a 2ghz cpu and the GPU in it will still be nvidia but they have not said which one yet my guess would be 8800gt or 9800gt or maybe even 250~285gtx chips which would be great but doubtful
