the beta drivers just add a sli profile to the mix is all plus MY HEATED discussion about updated physx engine as well

But yes you can run with other drivers as I am doing because they still have not fixed the driver crashed and recovered thing dam them

I cannot attest to exact performance increases with memory overclocking, but you get to a certain point where your GPU core clock starts being held back by your memory clock. I did some extensive testing when I had my 460 SE. I started to see smaller gains in benchmarks at stock memory speeds at around 830 MHz. So, I raised the memory clock from 1700 to 1825. The benchmarks started increasing in similar level percentages like before.

Set your memory to stock, run a benchmark like Heaven. See how much the FPS increases when you take it up to 2000. Not every card does 2000 at 100% usage. Furmark is not a good measurement for memory stability because in 1080p and 8xAA it is only utilizing about 30%.

hey guys. i've been reading about your vrm heatsink issues and bf3 beta issues. i have the same problem with bf3 crashing every so often but then again its a beta and that's why im not surprised its happening. i can go and play fallout nv all maxed out with my oc and be just fine so im not too worried about it. i actually did pick up some zalman vrm heatsinks for my 460's but havent looked into using them yet. i went to take my stock cooler off and by god it would not come off the card. there are only 4 screws and i dont know what else to do. can anyone shed some light on this please?

oh my god my fingers are bleeding. lol! i took off the heatsink (to poster above me just wiggly it a little and then use some pretty good force to get it off eventually)

i applied much better TIM than the stock thermal paste. and now i can run up to 83* lol didint even crash either. and hopefully once the tim cures i can run even higher. im at 850/1700/1990 fully stable. i also got to test this out on a huge hdtv at 1080 and was getting max fps at all time, very few drops to 45 during fog on bad company 2.

>>>> i have a problem<<< lmao. my friend now wants to buy my card for 110$.... any opinons on this. my motherboard doesnt support sli only crossfire... should i sell the card and go ati ( but i love physx!) lol or just get like a 570 later on or wait for the new cards next year? my head hurts D;

yeah i just did mine too lol i applied 4 zalman vrm heatsinks to each card as 4/8 could even fit anyway...? i also applied some artic silver 5 to the cards. seems to help around 2 to 3 degrees.

something i just stumbled upon though. in between my 2 460's, i have a creative pro series sound card, so i always assumed the top card (gpu1) wasn't getting as much air flow as the bottom card (gpu2). gpu1 was always 15-20 degrees hotter idling. but only idling. if i was playing a game the cards stayed the same. anyway. i was thinking about how i have my screens setup since i have 3 screens. my primary 2 screens i use were plugged into gpu1. i thought hey lets try plugging in one of my primary screens into gpu1 and see how that handles the use:temperature ratio. and DAMN. now gpu2 is doing what gpu1 was doing before i did the switch; 15-20 degrees hotter just idling. it doesn't make any sense as to why one of my primary screens, albeit the smaller of the two, should be making that much of a difference. anyone have any ideas? btw this was happening with my 550ti's and my 8800gt's before that.
