Because the fans on the Hawks blow straight down onto the PCB. There's no way two horizontally mounted fans can blow air horizontally, unless your using one of the fans that come with EE cards. Which blows air across the HS/vapor chamber HS, and out the back of the card.

You may feel heat being exhausted from your case, due to your case fans, but it's not from the Hawks fans. Like in my case, heat is being exhausted due to the case fans, and not due to the two 92mm fans I have, like yours.

We can have a "graphics" only 3DMark section. For instance, my old 3DMark result:

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/511587?show_...c5V7jHDfdbe62J

Graphics: 3939
Physics: 8379
Combined: 3738

So my score would be "3939" for a "graphics" only section, and not 4254, the result partially skewed by my cpu.

um, the fans blow air directly down to the PCB. the air hits the PCB and was forced out the back because of the plastic shrouds. that's what happen in my Galaxy GTX 460. i can FEEL hot air coming out of the 2nd vent slot for my card. most of the hot air is directed inside the case though.

And how was the air that hits the PCB forced out the case?

Some of the warm/hot air will seep out the case, through the high-flow bracket on the back of the card, but EE cards push a lot more warm/hot air out the case than any other design.

do i have to upload a diagram or something? i'll try to do that with paint.
and yes, the EE version push ALL of the hot air outside through the back.

I got 2 Galaxy Geforce GTX 460s. Waiting to get my motherboard so I can install them. Hopefully soon. I'm currently poor right now.

Right. But the amount of warm air being pushed out the case is minimal at best. Yes, some air comes out, I already mentioned that. But it is no EE, like you thought your Hawk was.

The amount of air your Hawk or any dual fan card pushes out the back isn't even on the same level that a EE can push out the bracket. Which is my point.

yes.... i do believe that the graphics only score should be the one posted... we should be comparing GPU scores without the CPU....

hehe either way your score is bigger than mine

also... just wondering why my 3DMark and Heaven scores haven't been added to the lists? did i do something wrong with my settings or something?

also since there is a column for cooling you can add that both my cards are water cooled by Koolance VID-NX460... and my voltage is 1.087v

wow you guys are the only ones i see with SLI 768 MB version. i usually only see 1 GB being SLI. i was hesitant to sli at first because of VRAM overhead and possible stuttering at high res.
can you fill me in about your crysis maxed out experience at 1080p? any stuttering when turning around?
