here is where I ran into issues between them.
-XFX geforce FX5200 128MB video card running Windows 7 Aero (beta Vista Drivers) is still working OCed to 70MHz core.
-XFX Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB video card, same enviroment, no Aero cause there were no drivers made for Windows Vista, Died within 10 minutes of boot.
These were all tested on my Dell Dimension 4600 Converted to run as a sever. Specs are
Dell propietary 250W PSU
Dell propietary 478 Socket Intel P4 HT Motherboard
Intel 478 Socket 3.0GHz HT Prescott @2.96x2
2GB DDR400 RAM
40GB WD400 IDE OS Drive
1TB Samsung Spinpoint SATAII (defaulted to SATAI speeds due to Motherboard)
1 Fan to blow onto the Passive cooled heatsink of the video card from the PCI slots, one to blow into the HDD tray from the front.
Since then, I've stayed away from ATI products. I know, I know, I run AMD computers other than my server. 1) I actually paid for my computers, the server was a freebie I fixed. 2) I see it as AMD Acquisitioned the Dieing ATI corporation because they wanted to incorperate video into their processors similar to Intel, and did so rather effectively, GOOD JOB AMD
