Evga GTX460 1GB
Cooler Prolimatech MK-13 with optional adapter for GTX460

412

I installed this cooler because the original was broked. I have not used the memory heatsinks, since it hadnt originally. I chose to keep the cooler kit untouched for a possible future VGA.

VGA and cooler are great, both easy installation and optimum performance.

Stable OC with 25 minutes OCCT VGA and several hours of BF3:
GPU: from 763MHz to 875MHz, and from 1.062V to 1.115V;
GDDR5: from 1900MHz to 2090MHz.

At 28°C environment, closed case, the GPU has a maximum of 74°C playing BF3. Note that this cooler could be assembled much more efficiently and with up to four 12cm fans.

BF3 runs smooth (constant 50FPS+) with the default video setting high, vsync on, and resolution 1280X1024 @ 75.

The CPU is an X4 965 @ 4GHz with 4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL7.

I was unable to play BF3 over 10 minutes at 900MHz, even with1.2V and DDRs at default. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try, or will I have reached the limit?

Greetings.

Hey, can some of you nice people help me. I am trying the update the bios of my gtx 460 v2. It's made on the GF114 chip, and my part number is the 01G-P3-1363-KR. I cannot for the life of me find a new bios update anywhere. I even have someone at EVGA trying to find a bios update for me as it apparently should cure my screen of death problem. Please please please help. smile.gif

Ohh that sucks...

Anyways can I join I love my gtx 460 had it for about a year. I just QQ a couple weeks ago when I found out EVGA had stopped carrying the 768mb versions on their site anymore; I have like 125 EVGA Bucks to spend there, I've been saving them up to get another lmao. I also found out that due to the single disabled memory controller SLi is a no go with a standard 1gb card like EVGA still sells on their site (anyone know if the memory controller is there and just disabled or if they actually removed it?). I needed the extra RAM too (too many graphical mods for my eyecandy version of Skyrim) can't install any more it runs at 761mb/768mb lol.

On the Bright Side Windows 8 Consumer Preview has helped my OC (same OC as W7 without voltage increase = WIN, for everything else there's mastercard). I might even be able to get it to go higher if I wanted to adjust voltage. OC is 800/1600/1800 from stock 675/1350/1800.

This probably doesn't count but I have a GTX 460m in my Laptop (it's basically cramming a non-oc'd GTS 450 into my laptop)

EDIT: Just noticed requirements to join will post that stuff later. However,

  • GPU-Z Validation or screenshot
  • Photo of your card with your OCN Username in the image or If you do not have immediate access to a camera then a screenshot with your username in wordpad/notepad will do.
  • 3DMark score with validation link if you wish to be added to the Unordered list.
Heaven benchmark score with results screenshot if you wish to be entered onto the leaderboard.

Why do I have to take an image with my username in it?
The reason I ask for this is so that I have viewable proof that you own a GTX 460 and also because it controls the inflow of club requests.

So I have to post a 3DMark bench? I don't have 3DMark I believe I downloaded it at one point but it only did a limited bench until purchased or something.

You only have to post 3DMk if you want to go in that particular list, same with Heaven. For the Owner's List I'll settle for a screenshot of GPUZ with your OCN username visible somewhere, like an open Notepad for example, for those with SLI.
For those without SLI the url for a GPUZ validation in your OCN username will do.

I'll post the screenies once I get linux working for folding idk how long that will be maybe tomorrow or Thursday.

Still if anyone knows about that disabled controller on the 768mb EVGA 460 I'd love to hear it because if it can be enabled I should be able to SLi with a standard 460. Right?

Turns out this V2 version isn't compatible with other 460's either. So we have four groups of GTX460 that aren't SLI compatible.

To use the table below for SLI pairing, just pick any two products from one of the columns. The part number does not have to be the same. You can not pick two products from two different columns (one per column) because they won't be compatible in SLI (according to EVGA):

I'm putting together a new system and I currently have a palit 460 2gb. I'm thinking about getting another 2gb for sli in the new system. The problem I am having is finding an identical card at a decent price. Does anyone have any experience with zotac or sparkle 460 2gb cards? Are they decent or problematic? What I currently have for the new system:

corsair vengeance military green 8gb 1600 low voltage 1.35v
Samsung 830 SSD 64gb
460 2gb ( currently in this system)

I need some help. I have a sli evga 460 super-clocked setup. Every time I try playing battlefield 3 or Skyrim, the game freezes. I would have to hard reset the pc and I can't alt-tab out the game. I've tried every time from new mobo, memtest86 the ram and new sli bridge. All my system and drivers are up to date. I tried under-clocking the cards and still freezes. I don't know what else to do. I might have to sell it and go for a single gpu set-up.

Yeah I read that forum even posted in it under my alias there. However I don;t think anyone ever explored finding a way to re-enable that disabled 64-bit memory controller either as that is the only difference (I believe its the bandwidth's limiting factor if not add that to the list to)

I'll look into helping you once I get my own issues fixed. IDK when that'll be but I'm fairly certain I'm just missing some key point in your problem.

Guys I would like some of your knowledge. I was running my 460 at stock for about a month and now I have decided it needs OCing again to maintain a better frame rate in battlefield 3. Stock voltage is 0.975v at 725mhz and I have overclocked it back up to 850mhz. What should my voltage be set at? (Approximately) I think BF3 is telling me that it needs more voltage. wink.gif
