i get 30FPS or so as a base, with stock config, Very High, and 4xAA.

At vanilla Very High, 4xAA 1920x1080, I get an average of 30-31 FPS, while using my autoexec.cfg raises it to 37-40 FPS.

^ do you get any vram related stuttering with your 768 MB card when playing crysis at 1080p very high?
'cause i''m thinking of going SLI and moving to 1080p but i'm afraid my 768 MB might limit me. if it can play crysis, it can play everything else. so i'm trying to see if it's worth it getting another card.

Thanks. When I was doing those Heaven runs that day I bumped up from 1.087v which I'd normally run those clocks at to 1.1v just to see if it would have an impact. Sort of searching for any unkown instability there. Didn't have any impact that I noticed but I just didn't switch it back until I finished the runs.

Nice Logan. Thanks again for your earlier help that pushed me over the edge into going 460 SLI. cool.gif

I just switched my 460's out and put them on my P55 board with my 760. It cost me a few heaven points it looks like but my cards like the spacing much better. So far you have me beat based off one quick run. Going to have to mess with the settings and make a few more runs to see where it ends up.

I think I may be doing something wrong with Crysis. If I buy the game, will I get better FPS than in the demo? Because that's all I've played before, and I can only manage high settings with no AA if I want a smooth frame rate.

if i remember correctly (and back to 2007), the performance between the demo and full game is damn near identical. what you're experiencing might be due to some people having a higher acceptance for framerate dip. in crysis i can't tolerate anything under 50fps, so i reduce my settings accordingly. since this sort of thing is perception-based, the easiest way to determine if there is something wonky with your setup is to run the canned crysis benchmark and compare your results to others.

+1 to what Porter said. It's been awhile but I remember the demo being very close in performance to the game. Except that maybe the 1st level isn't the most taxing. Min. framerates always gets me. For along time with different cards I would have "good" average FPS but kept feeling the need to reduce settting to some mythical point where it felt right. After doing some testing to see what was going on I've just decided I can't stand it when my Min. framerates dip below 50 FPS especially while playing multiplayer shooters. These days the avg and max FPS don't mean as much to me and I pay alot more attention to the min. FPS.

Maybe it is to do with the minimum FPS then frown.gif

Just a validation, but yeah, maxed out every slider in Afterburner without locking up. Artifacts like crazy at 1000 core and 1.2V, but I did run Kombuster for about 30 seconds just to see what would happen. I would have left it longer but I didn't feel like a restart. I didn't try Kombuster when the memory was anywhere past 4400 MHz or so though.

I bet these cards would do amazing with some sub-ambient cooling and hard volt mods. Imagine stabilizing those clocks - 1015MHz core, 2030MHz shader, and 4650MHz memory. And yes, those are the actual clocks that are being set, not some GPU-Z glitch or anything.

@GreenNeon,

I would like to suggest a few other benchmarks, if I may:

TessMark

ToyMark

And a utility I find useful:

Well, I do notice slight lag spikes when turning quickly but in firefights, it doesn't stutter as badly as I would have expected. I brought up the console and it reads about 800mb RAM usage so yeah, I think the 768mb version isn't enough.

But since you're going SLI, I'm expecting better performance on it than on my single card solution.
