Fan Controller

Thread Starter
I'm planning to water cool my new build but by using an LD-V8, I will be putting in 2x140mm fans, 5x120mm fans, and 1x92mm for the case alone (mostly GentleTyphoon's running at lower speeds). I will also be putting in 4x120mm fans for the RX480 radiator.

I was looking heavily at the Sunbeam Rheobus Extreme simply because of it's ability to incorporate more than one fan on a channel. This would allow me to control the entire radiator fans on one knob. However, the damn thing is just so hideous I don't know if I'd be able to stand it. I looked at the basic version since it definitely looks better but I couldn't find if it also had the ability to attach more than one fan to the knob.

I will only be using one 5.25" optical bay so the NZXT LX also looked incredibly impressive, until I realized that it only controls 5 fans on the massive thing and does a bad job of keeping track of your fans. I can tell you right now that if this controlled more than one fan per channel, it would be my choice.

Does anyone have any experience using these fan controllers, or other ones for that matter that you've had great or horrible experience with?

Sorry for the begging here, but all help is truly appreciate.

Thanks so much!

The Sunbeam is actually very nice. As you only see the front the LED's give it a nice touch as well. Cant speak for the NZXT, but I like my Sunbeam. Although I dont use it because I no longer need it I still recommend it.

It looks like it really gets the job done. I guess I'm just trying to see if there is anything just like it out there that just looks different.

The buttons look great lit up, I just think they look cheap and yuck.

This is the latest Sunbeam Controller. Has a clean look, PWM / Manual Fan Control and 6 x 30W/channel to boot.

I'll say right now that both of those are CHICKEN stunning! Yeah, I said chicken. The NesteQ would absolutely be my top selection here if it had the channeling options like the Sunbeam.

Otherwise, that new Sunbeam looks like the champ to me...

Just saw that there are LEDs above the buttons on that new Sunbeam...looks incredible in red.

I also read that the NesteQ might have the ability to have more than one fan hooked up to each without having to use splitters? Anyone know of this?

That could be, but consider the NesteQ is 6W per channel (48W total), Sunbeam is 30Wx6. If you're doubling up fans I'd go with the higher wattage.

How does the Sunbeam work? Will all the equipment I need come with the fan controller in order to connect 3 fans to one knob?

Looking at the pics, it comes with 3-pin ext only, you'll need to buy y-splitters
