Needing a mouse pad

While I am in the market for a new mouse, I am also in the market for a new mouse pad that will help accommodate it!

I used to use a SteelSeries QcK and it worked quite well for a while. Eventually the sides started fringing and the overall quality just wasn't what it used to be.

I use a Razer Goliathus now and I must admit, it has been better than the QcK. Don't know if it's because its 300x bigger and certainly about 3mm thicker but I don't want another Goliathus simply because I don't like Razer very much =/.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what mouse pad I should look at? I've been looking at SteelSeries again, particularly the QcK heavy but that's just too big for my desk. The Goliathus is far smaller than that and it's still too big for my desk.

I want a long-lasting, extreme performance pad

Long-lasting, extreme performance? I have just the pad for you! I have one and absolutely love it. It will last you your whole life, and works super well. (with most mice, but some mice can't track on it so you should tell me what mouse you have).

Anyway, it's this mouse pad:

I ordered mine from barnes and nobel for 45 bucks shipped. They're rather hard to find most places for some reason.

You can also get it in white, blue, or pink.

Here's a picture of it on my desk, cause I don't think their pictures really do it credit.

I love it.

Wow. Glass huh? That's unique. How does it work out for you?

I'm definitely looking more for cloth. How does it compare?

Well, it works amazingly! It's super easy to clean, just grab some windex and a towel, so you don't have the problem of gunk slowly building up on your mouse pad. Second of all, it's super slick in the sense that it won't hold for a second like a lot of mouse pads will that grab when you try to move a very small amount, which means it helps me be more accurate in a game.

Now that I've switched to this glass one, I'd never go back to a cloth mouse pad. Also, everyone that I've let try it out loves it to.

The only drawback, is there's a slight noise when you move the mouse over the pad, but it's not much honestly, and with some of the nice teflon feet they provide with the mouse pad it's mitigated even more. I don't even notice it anymore.

In the end, it's a great pad, but if you want a totally silent mouse pad I can't recommend this to you. If you can take a little sound when you move the mouse, then it'll be just fine.

It looks like a great pad!

My issue when it comes to mouse pads, and the reason I NEED a cloth one, is because of the size of my desk. I have a laptop currently and I don't have room for a hard or glass mousepad so I need to use cloth and have it droop down the edge.

I love cloth to be honest though, just need to find one that lasts longer than a QcK and is nicer than a Goliathus

Try the RAZER Vespula. Two sided for different types of tracking.

They're kind of hard to find for the I-2. Xoxide says they're being discontinued, but the cheapest I've seen is around $42 online. I was thinking about getting the I-2 since it has a smooth surface.

I put a link to Barnes and Nobel. That's for 39.99 with about 5 in shipping. You should definitely get it. just make sure though, that your mouse won't go all freaky on it. I have an mx500 and I know a g500 will work to. Generally logitech mice work on them, but check up on that before you buy it (or realize you might need to get a new mouse)
