I'm moving from windows 7 to ubuntu 10.10 - Page 2

I haven't had any problems with 7 and I'm on a little ankle biter of a system compared to yours.

Ubuntu 10.10 is pretty nice, though

People are just super opinionated so sometimes since they use Windows 7 its the best but havent tried anything else so they are quick to judge others in their opinions. I stand by you and say go linux!!!

This is not the court of law to prove you nothing.
I know how to test stability with prime and memtest and all of that.
I tought that if i share this with you,you would give me a nice welcome in the world of linux, but it seems that the world is coming to an end after all, people thinkin they are smart and start to be bad.
Maybe I'm older than you and i know more than you, have you tought of that?
U mad bro?

If you said im going to linux because i want to try something new we would have wished you good luck and gave you advise.

But since you said im going to Linux because i have a problem with windows we are going to try to help you fix windows.

Have you tried using windows memory diagnostic?

When you stress test for how long can you run it before your crash etc etc. Give use the data we dont want your opinion LOL..

(And if BC2 is all you care about get windows Xp Linux will not help)

Well, blue screens are mainly from unstable oc. How long do you run prime for? 10 minutes?
And I think you are making a move simply because you have a faulty oc or something within W7 is screwed up, try a fresh install at least, and dont download/install bunch of crap.

Other than that, I wish you the best in the ubuntu system. If i wasnt into games, id so be in Ubuntu 10.10 right now, but I game a lot so it won't benefit me.

Your doing something to cause the BSOD's I went through this same thing many times with a freinds computer I kept having to fix because of software related problems he was causing everytime he would transfer his backup files from his external hard drive.

I run nothing but Windows 7 on every machine and its the most stable windows OS. Esecially with a a proper optimized x64 install its going to be faster than xp in almost every way. I know from experience.

I haven't had any problems with windows that i haven't caused in a long time.

I still understand why you would want to use linux full time though.

Faulty os I just installed windows 7 today faulty.
With prime you test the cpu for 5-6 hours I think that is enough and guess what I wake up in the morning and start my computer windows 7 loads I open up mozilla firefox and i get a freeze just like that cause windows 7 wants to.So yeah thanks I am still backing up right now and yes I game a lot to but I will dual boot with XP,I usualy game only at night so it won't be a problem booting from ubuntu into xp.

Then there has to be an hardware issue no matter what. No reason why it should be blue screening on you if it was freshly installed...
