Since your not, why spend the extra money required for an IPS monitor? Games are just animations. Do you really care if the color shifts a little with viewing angle? And TN panels are faster and you will avoid any ghosting issues that IPS may cause.
You spend the extra money because Dell's UltraSharp monitors have much
better build quality than most of the crap TN monitors we're used to seeing, it has features like pivot, tilt, and swivel and a USB hub, and because you'll notice the color differences in games. Colors on games look much
better on IPS monitors, not to mention for general use having the extra viewing angles is always great.
As for ghosting, that's pretty much a nonexistent issue on newer IPS panels. Response times are comparable to the last gen 5ms GTG TN panels, and you have to train your eyes to even notice a difference.
The Dell U2311H is easily worth the asking price, even if you're not doing photo or video editing.
