Oblivion - 50k what to buy? - Page 2

I rarely use my horse, I still have the first one and the one from a prince I took after he died or what not.
While running I spam my spells and jump a lot to raise skills.

Most of my gear is Ebony stuff I found from different mobs I killed.

Damn it, now I feel like I want to play Oblivion again!

Anyway, I believe houses are the only things you need to buy, if only to complete a quest. Other than that, I never really bought anything unless it was required for a quest.

The best of the other items (armor, weapons, etc.) can usually be stolen, looted, or enchanted, or obtained through quests or mods.

When I stopped playing, I had over 500k of gold, and at least another two million worth of Daedric and magical items I had looted.

I typically level up naturally, but train some of the smaller, insignificant skills that can come in handy (acrobatics, athletics, that kind). That is what I spend my money on, that and the skingrad house. Armor and weapons are a waste, you get the best stuff on your own.

What about those places I can fix up?
I forgot the names right now, something Spire is one of them...

Any benefits to them? I know it would cost like 30k to fix a place up was wondering if its worth it for any reason.

If you like Crysis go try Metro, cause this isn't that type of game.

Now if you liked Fallout then make sure to give this a try, very similar in my eyes.

Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad. After you get all the upgrades there's a mini quest with a hidden treasure. I also like the house in Anvil, it's actually the cheapest after you add in upgrades, and there's a quest after you buy it too. The best gear comes as rewards for quests, I never buy anything from the shops.

You could also develop a skooma habit with that kind of bankroll.

One of the best swords is obtained through a mod called "Lost Spires", which I found to also be one of the best, most intricate mods available.
