Need advice on 2600K build.

Thread Starter
I'm more concerned with having something strong to run multiple applications, mostly doing Adobe Suite CS5, then some gaming on the side. I was looking at a Phenom X6 1090T but decided to go in the direction of the 2600K.

i7 2600K
ASRock P67 Extreme4
Gigabyte HD 6850 or GTX460
G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB 1600
Lian Li K-62

PSU is still unknown cuz that all depends on whether I go with the GTX460 or the 6850.

Any advice? Thanks.

If you can drop a few more bucks I'd get some better timed RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231431
or identical here
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231401

All desktop RAM is 15% off right now, so only 35$ extra for much stronger timings.

Well I won't be getting this within in the next few days so the prices will vary a bit. Is the extra cash worth the shorter timing?

As of right now though I'm thinking of taking out the Lain Li K-62 case and go with this combo as long as it's still available when I decide to order this stuff.
Azza Solana 1000R & CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W
Not sure how much power I'll actually need, but I do want to Crossfire the 6850 in the future.

I also think I'm gonna stick to an 6850 unless convinced otherwise. Also save a few bucks on this combo here.
i7 2600K & HD 6850

Then get a different heatsink/fan for the Cpu.
Hyper 212 Plus

Seems pretty solid in my mind, looked around and tried to save as much as possible finding Combo deals. Anyways, let me know if you think I could do better with around this budget, thanks.

Do you think that 850w PSU is too much? I do plan on doing crossfire in the future.

Yes, you could drop to a 750 Watt power supply, and would be able to run crossfire/SLI on those cards easily, and with quite a bit power to spare as well.

Well, I guess I'll stick to the 850w for now since that's a good combo deal and there's isn't really any good deals on 750w that I could find.
