I'm in no way trying to sound rude, but we never needed anything for our statistic calcs. Applied stats can be solved with nothing more than good Excel macros and MiniTab. See my previous post.

Lol, seriously an 850 watt seasonic not being able to handle a power sipping processor like SB and some 580's? I bet you think he needs a 1500 watt huh?

I dont know if this has been said but you cant put 2 i7s in a SR2- they only have a single QPI link.. for you to benefit fully you will need 2 5xxx series Xeon CPUs

The Xeons has a dual QPI link meaning they can talk to each other aswell as the NB etc etc

If a girl needs a 2000 dollar ring to be happy with you, then she isn't worth it.

If a girl really loves you, she will be happy weather she has a twist tie on her finger, or a huge diamond.

She will, you're right. But trust me, when it comes down to it, it's worth it for you.

4k is about what my rig would cost "retail" without the water cooling. I think with the deals ive gotten on stuff it probably has cost 4k including everything, luckily I haven't paid for anything out of my own pocket that is .

I am an applied math major. Right now i am doing alot of 3d modeling which is a pain in the but with my old quad core but i haven't tried it with my new rig since spring sem just started. I go to Georgia Tech, I hate having to actually use campus computers since alot of them are taken up with wow kids.

I will be doing some stochastic processes soon. Not this semester though

Useful post?

OT: Wait for ivy bridge or bulldozer, you won't need a dual-cpu setup, a couple of good gpu's and a solid psu is what you want.

Oh lol, I meant to say I really like my sig rig and its not a bad way to spend 4k bucks especially if its not your own.

Edit: Accept the processor, its not for gaming, so I wouldn't recommend it, although I am sure some mathematical applications could utilize many threads.
