GTX 560 & oc Cpu could my psu Corsair Tx 650w handle it?

Thread Starter
Im currently planning to buy the Gtx 560 to put into another machine but it has a Corsair TX 650W psu and the amd cpu currently a phenom ii x2 555 oc to 3.8 but im planning to unlock the cores and overclock it. Will the PSU be able to handle the load while having some headroom?

according to hardocp the gtx 560 uses about 420w on load... thats what im afraid of if unlock the cores.. its going to be like 130w?

or should i get the gtx 460.... lol

420w has to be the full system wattage on load. No single card pulls 420 by itself.

A 650 watt should be more than enough for that setup.

Im pretty sure 650watt could handle a gtx580 and then some

You will be absolutely fine with that system using a TX650. The 420W you're thinking of is what the entire system uses, not just the card.

Thank you =].. um do you think its a smart choice to be the one the first people to order and buy it or should we wait a week or two?

hehe i guess i could over clock the amd unlock cores as welL!

and also.. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 30 Amps.) << does my psu have enough amps?
Output
+3.3V@24A, +5V@30A, +12V@52A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@3.0A

Look at the +12V reading, it's right there in your post. 52A, when you need a minimum of 30A. So you have more than enough.

And yes, you can overclock once you've unlocked the CPU to a quad as well.
