PSU up or down

Thread Starter
I install my power supply up side but don't like the wire there. So my question can I mount the psu in my sig upside down to bring the wires closer to the mobo tray?

As long as the holes in the back are drilled right so it can flip over (that is if you dont want to mod it) it should be fine.

You can mount it with the fan facing down.

I prefer running them this way myself. It allows the PSU to pull in fresh air from the bottom of the case, and vent it out the back, in its own little loop. This keeps the PSU from heating up due to high end GPU/CPU setups or poor case airflow. The PSU is the most important part of your rig (since it can take out anything and everything if it dies), so giving it a good supply of cool air is a smart move.

I personally prefer mounting it fan up, the amount of space between the floor of the case and whatever it is sitting on is just not enough for a lot of air to get into.

But generally it's enough if your PSU isn't running at full load, you'll be fine.
