Dust Filters

Thread Starter
I'm gonna have a ton of fans in my new rig.

4x120mm on the top
1x120mm on the back
2x140mm on the front
1x92mm under the power supply
4x120mm inside my RX480 radiator

Is it viable to purchase dust filters for all of them? Doesn't seem too expensive...maybe $3 a pop?

I also saw someplace that sold a quad radiator dust filter. I was going to buy 4x120mm filters and just bolt them on. Suggestions here?

Also, anyone know any reputable company that manufactures dust filters? Can't find many on Newegg or FrozenCPU.

dude just make some from pantyhose and electrical tape, works better than actual filters IMHO.

Second that notion. Cheap and effective? You can't lose with a combination like that.

so you'll spend a few hours and several hundred/thousands of dollars for a new rig but you can't spend 10 minutes making dust filters out of pantyhose?

Personally I'd just modify the front panel of your case with some sort of filter(pantyhouse, lol) instead of trying to do every single fan. It'll restrict airflow less.

Well I'm not too too concerned with airflow or whatnot because my computer will be watercooled. At this point, I just want to keep the dust out while also circulating air at least somewhat decently throughout the computer just to keep the motherboard and the rest of the parts cool.

That video looks decent actually. Does he cover both sides with the pantyhose or just the front?
