Definitely interesting to see but I still can't stomach Gnome after all the crashes I had with it.
Well actually the odds are pretty good that you've seen one or several of my posts in which I have mentioned that I install Slackware's Everything option with like 6 WM/DEs and on top of that, since Slack no longer supports Gnome, I actually subject myself and my system to a 3rd party installer that replaces a fair number of libraries that Patrick and the boys chose because of the difficulty of getting Gnome to play nice, and let it have it's way with my nice, clean system. Obviously, I must really want to have Gnome in there. too.
Most of the WM/DEs that come with Slack are so stripped down I just have them to compare, run Wine games, keep up with, and maybe rob a few ideas. From Window maker I only steal icons anymore since Plasmoids have killed the need for it's cooler applets. However, Gnome and especially E17, fo have lots of cool stuff to learn from and/or steal.
So I applaud nathris for having the insight, knowledge and cojones to "mix and match", too. Besides,as I said, I'm a total pushover slut for Space wallpapers. APOD and I are old friends, and you gotta admit Hubble littered the place with Super Models.
Edit: I don't know why you get crashes but then I have spent less than 80 hours in *Buntu and less than 150 in Arch but didn't experience them there either even though in both cases I installed both KDE and Gnome.Edited by enorbet2 - 1/26/11 at 9:42am
