80mm OD Reservoir in a Corsair 800D case ?

Thread Starter
I am looking for the last part for my new build and I am thinking about getting a 80mm OD Reservoir Tube but as I measure it will be very close… so I wanted to see if anyone that has a 800D case has already installed a 80mm OD Reservoir Tube…

If you see the this picture from the Corsair site is looks like a 50 or 60mm OD tube maybe 200 or 250mm long,

I am looking to put my reservoir in the same spot but wanted to see if anyone has tried a 80mm OD X 200 or 250mm long

FYI, I am using a ASUS Crosshair IV Formula M/B and 2X ATI 6970’s as a reference, if you have any pic’s with the 80mm OD reservoir that would be great to see…

Any feedback would be very helpful,

Thanks

I've just got to pop in and say that that picture cracks me up. They must have 400 USD worth of WC hardware in there, and they use a H50 on the CPU? It's not uncommon to see the H50 beaten by air coolers and they went with that? The RAM block that requires the smaller tubing just makes it funnier. Better yet, they had to mount the rad barbs forward to fit the H50, using up a bunch of optical drive bays.

They made their bed, so I guess marketing forced them to sleep in it.

not the best picture but that is a EK res (60mm x 250mm)

you can see i have the 24 pin in fron of the res and it is very close to the hot swap cover. you could move the res to the left and probley have to bring the 24 pin over the fron of the res but other than that it should fit.

I'd hardly describe the H50 as competition for whatever block would actually make sense there:wheee:

In my case it was an interim solution until I can figure out something better... plus Im waiting on the appropriate fittings to be delivered to do that.

i agree that loop does look pretty stupid.. better thing is ive seen several OCN members wit good loops and expensive hardware but using a h50 for the cpu, but have watercooling 2 or 3 way sli.

anyways to the OP, i have no idea about your question, but im kinda worried now about the 250mm EK multi-option im buying today that will not fit.
