So I want to watercool my pc...

Thread Starter
I have the Rosewill Destroyer, which is an AMAZING budget $50 case, and I want to dabble into watercooling. I do have a fan controller for my 6 fans, 3 intake/3 exhaust. My temps are fine, 27-30 idle depending on ambient 38/39 load. I have my Athlon II X4 630 overclocked to 3.3GHz and it runs everything I have thrown at it so far without a hitch. I have the 212+ in a p/p config but that is the only thing that is really audible when I have every other fan off. My Power Supply fan is SILENT so I know it isn't the source of the noise. I'm not saying I am 100% obsessed with noise levels I just don't like to hear too much all the time. I have been considering the XSPC Rasa 750 RS120 Kit as where I can start at before looking into a custom loop. Would a 1x120mm radiator be worth getting? And are 2x120mm radiators the "standard" for watercooling?

It seems as if 3x120mm (i.e. 360) is more the norm than the exception these days. If your requirement does not include an interior case install, I would consider going with a 360 as you can run your fans at a lower RPM while providing the same cooling capacity as a 240 with higher RPM fans. Another benefit is greater absolute cooling capacity by way of greater radiator surface area. Read through the forums and notice how many users are adding rads as they start adding blocks, voltage and heat to their loops. A common response is to purchase new fans with higher RPM and pressure. A less common response and the one I subscribe to is to over rad from the start.

Well the thing is , I would like to have a loop in my Rosewill Destroyer. I can only see installing a 120 on the back, maybe a 240 on the top if I just take off the flip up addon fan module, other than that, I cannot think of another way to put watercooling on my case without having to seriously mod it. I just love the case and keeping the looks is my main concern.

You could mount a radiator on the back of your case, that's what I'm doing with mine until i get an 800D. Check out the swiftech radbox, its made specifically to help with the mounting of external rads.

360 FTW . Review the various setups in the OCN Water Cooling Club And Picture Gallery for ideas and examples.

What kind of temps do you think I will achieve using a XSPC 240/360 kit vs my current Coolermaster 212+ p/p set up?

Unless they represent general use sans artificial stress tools, your idle to load delta temps are already quite low. Only you can answer your question with accuracy. All I can say is better temps. Grab a Rasa kit, install and let us know how it does versus the 212+ .

You could mod your case some and fit a 240 uptop maybe looks like if you cut out the the mesh a 240 might fit.

Well I actually really like the panel to be honest. But the mesh really restricts airflow. Once I get around to finding my dremel, I'll get to it. Work and school and sleep really kill my time. Oh and while I'm here any other mods you guys could suggest before I make a thread on the Case modding forum?
