new gaming laptop.

Thread Starter
instead of a new tower build i am going with a desktop replacement laptop. my budget at max is $1200 so far i am really liking this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220921
what i am looking for is one that can game. i only really play world of warcraft right now but with a new rig that can and will change. i am not to worried about battery life because i will just use it at home most of the time so it can always be plugged in. i would like something that is 17'' but what i have it 15'' so the same size would be fine not bigger then 17''. full hd would be nice and a back lit keyboard is good as well.
now i am really up in the air about this and i have until the 8th of next month before i can even get anything. any and all fed back will be wonderful!

I'm new to these forums and so I'm confused, especially having come from SlickDeals. Is the priority not to get the best specs for the price or to save money? o_o

Everyone is linking each other to products at retail prices.

The one you picked out looks like a pretty good value. There are some others out there but with an OS it would run closer to $1250 like the Sager NP8130.

If you want a 17" LCD, you're going to have to go with a lower quality graphics card to make up for the cost of the screen to keep it under $1200, or go refurb/used/open box.

Good luck!

I would recommended the Sager 8130 It has the new Sandy Bridge CPU's and comes with a GTX 460M, 8GB's of RAM and a 500GB HDD are standard.

yes but all that is with out a os. 1200 is my max budget and that is pushing it as it is. i was thinking that asus because it comes with almost everything that the sager does and a os. i was asking for someone to suggest something that would ether be a better buy for my money or something that is cheaper for just as much power.

Well, You could install win7 or Vista on it yourself and extend the trial period to 120 days (or however long the max trial is, or visit sites that promote warez and get a crack *I don't endorse piracy* Just listing the options available to you).

I would go with Sager since in the long run you can do more with them.
