Massive watercooling noob here needing help!

Thread Starter
Hi,

I've been wanting to watercool my pc for months now and now I've finally got about 200$ to spend on a loop. I'm doing a CPU loop only first then I'll upgrade the GPU and have a CPU + GPU loop. Can any watercooling pros help me out choosing parts? I'm buying an EK Supreme LT Water Block. I need help on the other parts such as the pump, reservoir and other stuff. Can anybody help me choose a pump? I want something in the 50$ range (Interested in the EK DCP 4.0)
Awesomesauce.

Oh yeah and would the EK DCP 4.0 be enough for a CPu and GPU loop?

If you can stretch your budget by another $20, you can pick up a mcp655-B pump. It's going to be the best pump for your particular non-restrictive loop. Better still, it's absolutely silent.

Reservoir is completely up to you. Swiftech makes the micro res, which is a cheap non-bay res. If you want a bay res, XSPC makes a res that holds the mcp655-B pump. This allows you to use less tubing.

As for a radiator, I suggest you pick up an XSPC RX360 with three Yate Loon fans. That's going to give you very solid performance for your budget.

If you haven't purchased the EK Supreme LT yet, I suggest getting an XSPC Rasa block instead. It performs outstanding, and costs less.

This is an excellent kit. I am using the RS240 version on a i7 970 and a koolance block on my GPU with excellent results.

A res is not really a requirement either, so theres a chance you could save a couple bucks and just use a T-fitting with a fill line filled to the brim. Whats the price difference between that LT block and the HF Supreme?

Theres always room to upgrade later I suppose. One of the better parts of WC (there are a couple, not many, but a couple) is that for the most part and assuming some size standards remain standard, the wc setup comes with you from build to build to build... every day that goes by on water is a day were it pays for itself.
