We're talking PURELY about the ability to play video games. The blu-ray drive is OUT. We're not demanding the PS3 has the capability to mod and customise games either right?

We're only talking about their ability to play games. Anything the PS3 can do that the PC can't is easily outweighed by what the PC can and the PS3 can't.

4670 will run Bad Company 2 very well as it only requires a 7900GT at the least so yes, a 4670 is very good card for its value and will perform on par or better than PS3.

No CPU cooler needed as you have no need to overclock a quad core for today's gaming, and a retail CPU includes one.

I guess it weighs out. PS3 doesn't have anti-aliasing/about 20 other features that a PC can do, does it? Netflix/iTunes HD streams FTW. Blu-Ray is too 2009.

For the record, I have owned a PS3 for long now. I have touched its Blu-Ray use maybe twice or thrice since I bought it.

Your ignorance is astounding.

You are too primitive to be capable of realizing superbowl occurs once in a year.
and even if, for some unbeknownst reason, you still insist upon watching it,
even though your team is not participating(which would be an even rarer occurance),
you are still on the hook for $50 - $100/mo cable bill just to have a few hours of entertainment.

well if you put it that way you have to add the tv to your console also so there an extra couple hundred atleast and then what you mean no cpu cooling? they come with a heatsink which is more then you need for just gaming for the OS you can get a copy very cheap from a school of some sort you gotta know someone that goes to college usually they give them out for free here you dont need blue ray to play pc games an if you play the games at the same resolution as the ps3 or xbox you will probly get more frames from that card then they get

Yes, and with a 500 Dollar PC you'll get a few dozen features you won't get with a PS3. Should we let that weigh in as well? In that case it isn't even a competition. In that case it's like putting a retarded kid with one leg and an eyepatch in a wrestling ring with Godzilla.

Who's cable bill is $100.00?

I'm sure DirecTv will have way more channels and shows on demand with buffer then any internet option at this date.

I'm not going to wait a day after a TV episode was aired and wait to illegally download it.

oh well i guess its what you will get the most use out of really. cuz i use the blu ray player like its going outta style. atleast once a day. and i use the net flix and all that (which you CAN obviously do on pc)

oh and PS3 is also 3D ready again it depends if you really want to use it same with pc. when i build my new rig its gonna run me almost 2 grand im goin 3D and probley wont use my ps3 much anymore but some games are better with ps3 controller in hand to me.

Hardly takes an hour for a proper upload to be up. If you've got proper internet, you'll have it within one an a half.

And yes, I hate living in Europe when it comes to TV.

You can't forget that a PC is a computer and can also be used for so much more then gming. As much as a PS3 or XBOX 360 tries to be a computer, it never will be able to be that. You can't work on Photoshop, CAD, video editing/encoding, office applications, etc. on a console.

The people that game on a console will also have a PC that they will use for their everyday computing needs. Even if you have a $1000 gaming pc, you could subtract the cost of a "regular" PC from the total cost of the gaming PC to get just the GAMING cost of the hardware. Chances are, you are going to be at leat the same or cheaper then a console. With the cheaper price of PC games, you are now ahead.
