safe to leave pc on when nobody home?

hey guys. installed a water loop about a week ago. no leaks, yay. anyway i got the hoses clamped pretty good. im wondering if you guys think it is safe to leave it running p95 while im at work. i mean what are the chances of a leak spontaniously happening, or a pump failure.

i gotta admit, even though there is no leaks, im still not 100% comfortable with the idea of water.

Hard to say really one way or the other, as far as leaks, probably not... pumps could go anytime...

Maybe install Coretemp and set it up to start with windows w/ overtemp protection turned on to shut the computer down in the event of too much heat buildup? I have this set myself, have not had any problems, and I will verify it does work, from my air days.

if there was going to be a leak it would happen the within the first week of use. as for pump failures it could happen any time. and if your computer overheats it will bsod and shut down with no damage really.

If I have my PC on at home I am usually remoted into it with teamviewer so I can keep an eye on it. I had a situation happen the other night that freaks me out about leaving it on when im not there..... I installed my new PSU in my case and had the fan flipped towards the bottom because my case has a bottom intake for the PSU. Apparently this pushed too hard on the fan grill and caused it to start making a grinding noise under stress when the fan turned on, and I had to flip it over. If I would have left my pc on to stress test it while I was at work I would have ruined the fan on my brand new SeaSonic PSU

I don't leave my WC rig on unless I'm on it. I do leave my file server up 24-7-etc.

If you must leave it on, hook yer pump rpm lead to the mb and set it to shutdown if the pump fails.

I put my loop in last month. I leave it on and go to work all the time. As a matter of fact I seldom turn my computer off. I wouldn't worry about it. If it does bother you a lot then perhaps going back to air would be better for you mentally. Stress is not worth it.

i thought about that. going back to air that is. but wouldnt be able to obtain the oc i want. i think i will give my loop a few more weeks to let it prove itself. im not worried about the pump failing as i have failsafes for that, but rather the leaking part. i know in my head i put everything together properly, and there is no leaks. im kind of ocd about things. i turn my pc off when not using it, but this would be for stress testing for 24 hours.

I never turn my computer off. It's almost always either rendering a movie in Handbrake to downloading something.

No problems yet.
