CPU Performance and Overclock check

Thread Starter
Hi guys, recently I've been having some problems with SC2 giving me low FPS with my i7 950@4ghz and 580sli. Most people are pointing it at a CPU bottleneck which i sorta find strange since an i7 isnt really low tech.

Anyway is there a way to check whether my CPU is working the way it is? I mean a benchmark tool or anything to check if for some reason my OC is actually hindering my CPU performance? Just wanted to know if my CPU is working the way it should and the OC is actually improving its performance

If anyone thinks to ask about stability I can say it is stable with 80passes of IBT on max ram and 8hrs of prime95.

thanks guys!

Starcraft 2 ain't good with multicores. I think I remember reading somewhere that it's only properly optimized for two cores (what were they thinking..).

If true, this means an increase to your clockspeed is the only thing you can do if you are getting bad performance. Same applies to console ports that only like to use 3 cores.

For actual gameplay O get around 130-90fps(this is on a non unit heavy scene) and GPU and CPU usage seem low. For cutscenes I get around 250+FPS sometimes 300 and my GPU usage goes about 99% on both cards. If you can compare please do thanks!

Can anyone recommend me the tool that im looking for on my first post?

First off, with that kind of fps I'll hunt you down if you're complaining. Dual 580s? Goddamn.

Anyway, to be honest, you probably ARE bottle-necked at the CPU. Especially if SC2 is only optimized for two cores.

The speed that those 580s are capable of handling in SLI is ridiculous.

So where are you getting low FPS? 130 FPS is not low.
