i7 930 4.2GHz was stable, now shurts down suddenly under load

All system specs are in my sig rig. My system passed 50 passes of linx and has been folding 24/7 for a while. All of a sudden it just cut out, shut completely down, and restarted itself after 2-3 seconds of being off. What is most likely to have caused this?

When it rebooted, I opened up my folding client, and when it was under 100% load it did it again. I'm not getting any BSODs either. Just a sudden cut out and reboot.

No BSOD? Probably related to your RAM or QPI voltage.

Or bad quality PSU.

Check to make sure none of your BIOS settings changed. Like the vcore or anything like that.

I don't think the 930 IMC is spec'd to run memory at 2000 MHz. If you throttle the memory back to 1600 MHz does it still crumble under load?

sounds like a power issue to me, how old is your PSU and has it been run at high load regularly?

The PSU isn't that old, probably about a year old. I dont tthink i'm using all 750w and these HX PSUs have pretty high amps.

I'll check my bios settings again when I get home from work. Is it really that big of an issue to run my ram at 2000MHz?

At 1800MHz and 1600MHz, same crash. No BSOD, but a sudden cut out of power. At less than 1600MHz memory and over 4.0GHz cpu, I get the same thing. I had to lower it all the way to 3.78GHz and 1440MHz to get it to not crash.

Could I have damaged my CPU by running my ram at 2000MHz with higher QPI voltage for an extended period of time?

How can I figure out if it's my CPU, PSU, RAM, etc??

I'd take a look at the back of the motherboard. If you see any severe discoloration under the VRMs, it could be wearing out.
