well sometimes a few points makes differenct and my understanding is most of the new GPU drivers are more compatibles with 16x some people have problems upgrading drivers using the GPU @ 8X

Looking at clock for clock, they're more or less evenly matched. Still, as a platform, LGA-1155 is less expensive, not to mention it will overclock higher, runs much cooler and consumes less power.

Quite frankly, if all you want is SSD support, you should be doing the upgrade to Windows 7 first.
I selected the 920 specifically because it was what the OP asked for... 920 or 2500k?

+1

go with the 2500\\

even it got only 4 cores
remember treads aret cores the 4 logic cores arent as powerful as a normal core and the SB are about 20% better clock to clock core vs core

so 4 stronger cores + it can OC allot higher so it will be allot faster anyway in anything then a 920 (even if the 920 is OCed you will max get a 4.2 OC on air and with hot temps)
My build :)

920.

Is there a difference? Yes. Is it noticeable? Maybe.

Question: Is this for gaming?
