So far my Vantage score has increased, finally broke 33k total and 37k gpu score.

I really don't know what to tell you guys as you're both on 5*** series cards according to your sigs. I never had an issue with my 5870s. The 6950s are the greatest value in the gpu-business for ages IMO, but drivers hindering the performance from being fully utilized is a disappointment for me so far.. Anyways, i notice myself getting more wound up the more i think about this, so i'm gonna need to just reset my train of thought and start fresh before i crap all over my own thread..

Alright. I reinstalled my drivers again..for the "nth" time tonight, and ran heaven again. Seems to be back on track again..Hopefully i won't have to go through all this hassle every time a new driver (read hotfix) is released with these cards. I REALLY hope AMD can be on the money with the 69**series, as the drivers (although stable and working for me and my 5870s) for the 5*** series cards seemed to never really make them realize their full potential..

Is that good enough for ya? Like i mentioned earlier; this is MY FIRST issue with ATI/AMD, but i think all owners of 69** Series cards have been quite patient with AMD when it comes to making a new set of good working drivers for their cards..As i can now say that there are clearly performance issues as well, i'm quite annoyed, as i now probably have to spend the rest of the evening cleaning these drivers out and getting everything stable again..
yeah, i read the whole thread, maybe you should go back and read it too instead of crying about how inaccurate gpu-z is.

Then i guess these are the parts you don't get:
"Anyone please comment on this, and please do correct me if i missed something along the way!"
"Forgive me if i'm ranting, but this is the first gripe i've had with AMD/ATI and it's not personal.."
"And you're right, it doesn't matter what gpu-z tells me. However it tells me something about the driver development guys, as they couldn't even be bothered to make these drivers 100% right according to their own plan (the once a month new driver schedule) for two months, that's all." "But again, you're right they at least make my cards work"
"True. And i'm right with you, it's my first issue as well, and it's not a matter of life and death for me or anything, i just felt like ranting on the subject at the moment. Like i said; it's not personal and all in all i'm a satisfied ATI/AMD owner."
"this is MY FIRST issue with ATI/AMD, but i think all owners of 69** Series cards have been quite patient with AMD when it comes to making a new set of good working drivers for their cards"
"I never had an issue with my 5870s. The 6950s are the greatest value in the gpu-business for ages IMO, but drivers hindering the performance from being fully utilized is a disappointment for me so far"
"I REALLY hope AMD can be on the money with the 69**series, as the drivers (although stable and working for me and my 5870s) for the 5*** series cards seemed to never really make them realize their full potential.."

Now, i'm not here to argue with anyone, and everyone are entitled to their own opinion. That I have a gripe with the way ATI/AMD has handled the drivers or lack there of for the 69** series doesn't mean you have to agree, or start a pissing contest because of my views on the matter. Unless you have an intelligent contribution which may help out one of many who seems to either not understand how their 11.1 whql drivers show up as 10.11 everywhere or have performance issues using them you can stay mute in this thread.

The cards have been out for a bit over a month, not over two months as you have claimed... It takes time to certify a driver, so naturally a hotfix from the 26th is gonna be a newer driver than a whql from the same date.

i know certification takes time, so that's not something i have a problem with. I just think that when you put a product out there it should be good to go, and that includes drivers that aren't preceeded by "hotfixes". Excuse the two month mistake, it's just that all these hotfixes got me a little confused, seeing as i've installed a hotfix instead of proper drivers for that amount of time starting with 10.10e. And make no mistake; i'm glad they came out with the hotfixes, but maybe AMD shouldn't be so ambitious and have their mind set on putting out new drivers every month, seeing as a lot of ppl seems to be having trouble with these drivers. The constant hotfixes only testifies to the fact that the initial product was unfinished at release, and i assume (yes i know assumption is something that should be avoided...) it's because the driver developers are being pressed for time. I would rather have a good working driver every other month than a driver with issues and a hotfix every month. And the fact that i even started this thread says something, as i haven't been plagued by any issues until now. I can only imagine how people who have had issues for months and basically haven't gotten the full use of say a 5970 attributed to bad drivers feel..I finally understand some of the nuisance this has caused. BUT; saying that i also have to say that my cards are once again working perfectly, and this evenings glitch and driver performance issues may have been a fluke on my end. I'm not above screwing up. I'm sorry if it seems that i'm just *****in' and moanin' in this thread, but i really get what you ppl are saying, and it's not a problem for me seeing this case from more than one angle. Anyways, to all of you out there with hd 5*** and 6*** series graphics cards from ATI/AMD: you've got good products. Just don't settle for less, after all you've paid for it to be working and hassle free.
