Update:

So it's been a while since my last update, and I feel like I must breathe life back into this delayed project! I got accepted into dental school, so I've been running around like crazy, but finally found some time to get some of this project back on track. So without further ado...

Quote:
To start, I cleaned up the basement using some acoustic foam from Silverstone. While the foam by no means actually does much to dampen those loud basement fans, it does clean up the look of the basement significantly.

Quote:
As you can see, looks pretty snazy. The basement is the only area getting the foam treatment, but it cleans it up nicely. Unfortunately, it seems the basement rad got scratched somehow since the last time I installed it. Not sure how, but it's not a huge loss, and I can always repaint it if it bothers me a lot...

Quote:
My tiny excuse for a pump is sitting all ready to run. Barely fits between the PSU and the basement rad, but looks like it'll work out.

Quote:
Since my last post, I've purchased the compression fittings for the second loop and have installed them. I'm still waiting to be able to afford purchasing the GPU block, which is the last part of the second loop, but for now it looks like I'll need to order some more tubing.

Quote:
On a sad note, what was once not kinked became kinked over time. I must have missed this little detail and temporarily opened up the kink a bit with cable ties. Luckily temperature stayed fine for the CPU block, but flow is terrible while it remains. Looks like when I drain the system to install the metal panels, I'll have to replace this tube.

Quote:
And on a happier note, I have finally received my cf wrap, which I immediately used to wrap the panels I've been saving aside. This is not vinyl cf wrap, but a more fabric-like cf wrap from the fine (if not slow shipping) folks of cfwrap.com. It's a bit trickier to install but looks much nicer than the vinyl stuff.

So without further ado, let the cf wrap pictures commence!

Quote:
Front hot-swap fan panel cover. Twas difficult to get the corsair logo or words to show, and this was the best I could do considering it's fabric and not vinyl. I focused on making the front look better, and the top is acceptable, with the exception of the tab which is ugly, so I'll paint that black later.

Quote:
As you can see, I covered those two small holes. It sinks in a bit, so I found a way to make them look more flush by placing some foam underneath. I'll put pictures up later with the fix if it's worth showing.

Quote:
Hot-swap panel. As you can see, that hole a drilled earlier is quite visible in the bottom left corner, and will forever haunt my dreams. For now though, it'll do since it's barely visible in the case since its right under the reservoir.

Quote:
Panel covering the pump cage. Turned out really well.

Quote:
Top piece is for the cover on the back of the cage, and the bottom piece is the divider hiding the basement compartment. I'll need to get a 90 degree aluminum L-shaped bar to clean up the connection since the top of the basement divider isn't as clean a cut as I'd prefer. I'll take a pic later to show what I mean.

Quote:
Motherboard tray. Worked out the best of the batch, which is good obviously. I covered up a few holes I felt I didn't need. Again, need to use the foam to make it look less indented, but might not bother since res covers holes anyway.

Quote:
A close up just to show you what the cf wrap looks like. Again, I prefer this fabric over the vinyl as it looks a bit more authentic (in my opinion) and is less glossy. It's matte black, so it fits well with the case. I have lots of left over wrap, so I'll look into using it elsewhere.
That's it for now. I have to disconnect and drain loop 1 before I can install the trays, so I'll use the time to wash the system out a bit (still some rad junk left), change some of the tubes, and organize things a bit more. Overall, looks good so far, and I'll put pictures up once the cf wrap trays are installed. Until then, thanks for reading, and comment if you like what you see!

Update:

So I've done a lot of the CF wrapping, and have put the panels together. Some things went well, some didn't. I'll need to re-do the basement panel (or at least bend it back into shape) and re-wrap a panel or two. Regardless, I proudly present my desktop build, as is...

Quote:
Overall shot. With the flash, you can see which panels are bent. (luckily not-so-much without a flash). Being the perfectionist I am, I'll likely re-do them since sheet metal is dirt cheap, as is the cf wrap I used. You can see the minimalist design, as I worked hardest to reduce the amount of visible tubbing. I'm having a hard time planning out the second layout for loop 2, but that's for later anyway...

Quote:
A closer look at the internals... The overall look should be as clean as I can get with the blocks I have. I might work in some more angled fittings, but that's for later. I fixed the kink on the CPU block by making the tubing a bit longer...

Quote:
The removal of the stickers from the ram cooler really helped the look. The blue stickers just weren't cutting it and I like the more minimalist look anyway. Before you comment, yes the res is a bit low, but it's still losing air bubbles here and there, and until it's more cleared out I won't top it off quite yet. This shot also shows the EVGA backplate I installed on the GTX 570, which is actually really nice.

Quote:
Another internal shot... You can see in the top left corner the tubbing going into the rad. Nice and tucked away...

Quote:
I really am considering making some sort of backplate for the sound card just to clean up the look even more, but I'll need to think it out first to see what works...

Quote:
I'm still not a big fan of the random tube flying out of the NB/SB block into the res, but it's the best I can think of atm. I'm not sure how I'll clean the look of the future GPU block without running straight from the NB/SB block into the GPU... Still, I want the GPU on a second loop in the basement, so I'll think of something...

Quote:
Like I said earlier, the kink on the CPU was fixed by lengthening the tube. Looks good so far...

Quote:
The braided cables look good on the GPU. Can't wait to have another GPU and some waterblocks to show off later...

Quote:
Res looks good in it's carbon fiber cocoon. Like I said, I'll top it off later once the air has settled a bit more. Regarding the internal UV light, I'm probably not going to use it, so I might put a red LED inside instead...

Quote:
The radiator hiding under the top cf wrapped panel...

Quote:
Same panel. Different angle.

Quote:
Pump cover/panel looks great, though bends a bit. Probably because it's cut a bit long. I'll fix it later...

Quote:
Bottom panel is bent. Plain and simple. Going to re-do it later. The bottom shelf is good, and I might add an angled bar to clean it up later, hence the gap under the hot-swap fan case cover...

Quote:
Another re-do needed. Just didn't work out. Too much glue, and too much air. I will only redo it if it really bugs me, because I'll need to peel it off, clean the glue, re-glue, and re wrap... BAH!

Quote:
Just a shot to show the glow from the top panel behind the rad. Simple, but makes it look nice at night without being too bright. I hate cases that are 'over-done' on the lighting effects...
That's it for now! More to come when cash flows in. Need to get the GPU block, re-wrap a few things, a few lighting effects and cf wrap touches, as well as figuring out how to get the second loop working without making the overall look too messy. Like always, feel free to comment or make suggestions! Thanks!

I keep going back to looking at the style of it and I'm not a fan of red but you have made this look simple and by that i mean its not over done or flashy its there.

I'm wondering what this would look like in a white tube/blue anti kink set up....hmmm I really need to get my computer built before thinking of this much later stage.

Yea, I did play around with the idea of white tubing, but to be honest it's not me. I do very much like white tubbing builds, not so much blue. The goal was to make it as clean as possible, since I'm not a big fan of the whole tubbing everywhere disaster a lot of people do with their rigs. I'm definitely looking at cleaning it up more, but the red and black I stuck with because the EVGA classified board was already like that, so why not
