I will humor the Sata II and III topic..... IF your MB came with different cables.. they will have stamped on them as such. Some manufacturers take advantage of ill-knowledge and attempt to keep the belief alive that there is a difference.

In fact here is a quote from Crucials forums on such a topic by user 'dingle'
"I just tested with my c300 and x58a UD7 with SATA 3.0 and 2.0 (at least it doesn't say 3.0) cables in a SATA 3 port, and both work and perform the same it would appear."
When I open AS SSD it shows the following

C300-CTFDDAC128M
0006
msahci
103424 K - OK
119.24GB

Also this is after I switched to the supposed SATA 3 cable..

I have the exact same problem with my 64GB C300. Only getting about 180 read times and 70 write times. I installed using AHCI. My ASUS mobo also shows that my HD is IDE.

hey i found something interesting that i just tried to do to improve the problem (same as yours). under the main settings you should have storage configuration. my configure SATA as was set to IDE and not AHCI. not sure if this will improve the situation or not. will let you know.

So both that and on Onboard Device Configuration you have it set to AHCI right? Just trying to figure it out for myself too. Damn this is annoying. Maybe there's something fishy about the ASUS mobo we have?

Not really sure what this means.....maybe the Marvell chip really is so terrible that it doesn't even match on par with the Sata 2.

Also I was thinking...maybe we shouldn't have both USB3 and SATA3 on at the same time? Maybe disabling USB3 will speed up the SATA3. ughhh...this is relaly annoying.

Hey do you have the IO LevelUp turned on to SATA6? That may be another reason. I am now running at full speed after turning on IO LevelUp to SATA6. That may be your problem as well since it doesn't seem to have been mentioned in this thread yet.

Do not use the Marvell drivers from the CD... let windows run the sata III... or you will have poor performance.
