Odd sounds from hard drive? - Page 2

Most likely not. Do you have it so when the computer idles the hard drive stops spinning? If so that's definitely what it is.

Don't own a WD green but I do have a black and blue and they are both fairly noisy, I notice the blue more as its my storage drive and doesn't get accessed very often so when it does I can hear the difference.

Don't think you have anything to worry about.

It's not making noises when it's idle, it's making noises when I'm trying to access something.

And it kind of sounds like rapid clicking when I listen closely to it.

Try this and see what it says. Mine was on 24 minutes default and it was making my drives act weird. Changed it to "never" and no more issues.
