Currently I'm running a setup where I have crappy 2.1 speakers that mostly play game sound and music plugged into a cheap external usb soundcard, and modded sennheiser HD555's going directly into my motherboard. Vent/mumble/voip is always through my headphones, games and music almost exclusively through speakers - however sometimes I like to change default devices in sound options since music sounds incredible through the headphones.

I am looking to make some upgrades and get better sound. I was first thinking of just grabbing a headphone amp/dac like a

or and I would probably be pretty happy with it. The thing is I mostly listen to music through speakers, so upgrading my speakers to (or better) and maybe grabbing an actual soundcard might not be too bad.

Is there any way I can still set it up so I can have vent/voip dedicated to headphones, and music/games dedicated to speakers, but have the option to switch devices? Say I want to change it so that music is through headphones instead and still have game coming through speakers. Is there a way to get an amp/dac and have the speakers go into it as well, and be able to switch devices? Or am I screwed and need all 3, headphone amp/dac, soundcard, and speakers?
