best pump for future loop?

Thread Starter
I think I've decided to buy a 240 Rad CPU block and pump instead of another Rad for my h50.
I'm planning to WC my CPU and 2 gpus (5970 & 5870) in one loop with a 240 and 360.

My question is what's the cheapest pump and best/reliable for my loop? I think I'd add an aftermarket top to the pump. I was looking at the swiftech350.

350 with a top or you could go with a stock 655.

In his loop the 355 won't make a difference, there's no need for the extra head pressure. I'd go 655, it'll run cooler and quieter. I have two though so I'm a teeny bit biased haha.

Well I want a top cause it looks much nicer than stock.
Not sure what the difference in performance would be?? Explain please I want it to be quieter or as quiet as case fans or fans on the rad

Well cheaper is better. But I know price will vary cause the top piece. But maybe $50 then the top. College studnet here

It does because he wants a suggestion based on a pump that will be good for the future as well.

MCP350 with a EK top.

MCP355 18w is known to be noisy.

The MCP350 with a top is the way go if you want silence. Also should you need more head in the future, you can grab another one of these pumps cheaply with a dual pump top.

I'd go with a stock D-5 (mcp655), it'll be silent once bled and it will perform as well as you'll ever need it to in that loop or any future loop. Really, you might see 1C difference between them and probably outperform the 350, but I think it's easier/cheaper to get the stock D5 and not worry about tops and noise and the pump overheating. You can always get a top for the D5 too if you want.
