I think I've decided to buy a 240 Rad CPU block and pump instead of another Rad for my h50.
I'm planning to WC my CPU and 2 gpus (5970 & 5870) in one loop with a 240 and 360.
My question is what's the cheapest pump and best/reliable for my loop? I think I'd add an aftermarket top to the pump. I was looking at the swiftech350.
In his loop the 355 won't make a difference, there's no need for the extra head pressure. I'd go 655, it'll run cooler and quieter. I have two though so I'm a teeny bit biased haha.
Well I want a top cause it looks much nicer than stock.
Not sure what the difference in performance would be?? Explain please I want it to be quieter or as quiet as case fans or fans on the rad
Well cheaper is better. But I know price will vary cause the top piece. But maybe $50 then the top. College studnet here

The MCP350 with a top is the way go if you want silence. Also should you need more head in the future, you can grab another one of these pumps cheaply with a dual pump top.

I'd go with a stock D-5 (mcp655), it'll be silent once bled and it will perform as well as you'll ever need it to in that loop or any future loop. Really, you might see 1C difference between them and probably outperform the 350, but I think it's easier/cheaper to get the stock D5 and not worry about tops and noise and the pump overheating. You can always get a top for the D5 too if you want.
Well I chose the ek 240 rad. And ek supreme hf.
I guess only other would be tubing size.
Thing is, I see all this now as getting expensive. And before this I thought of getting only the rad to replace my h50 rad. Then hold off on the block and pump for when I get more $$

I know there's a whole thread for the H50 mods, I'm not sure that the pump in the H50 could handle that rad. Have you thought about an XSPC Rasa kit? There's a version with the RX240 rad, basically the same as the EK 240. Block isn't quite as good as the Supreme HF, but it works. Same with the pump vs 350. All in all, a solid kit, and popular around here.

A guy used a swiftech 360 on the h50 and its been working thus far for like 6months and still strong.
I saw the radar kit but I don't need a res. I have a micro res from my mod. I wanted to get the HF supreme cause there's a blue acrlyic and black, which would go perfect with my case mod
I actually like compression fittings alot, the look of them. And plus it ensures a lower risk of leaks

Yup, and it's a top of the line block! You can't go wrong with an EK 240, Supreme HF and a 350. OR the H50 with a 240 and add a pump and block later. Remember that for the price, you could get the 655 and the rad instead of the 350 and top. If the H50 can handle a 240 rad then that's probably a good intermediate step, you'll use the 240 anyway later on, I just don't know whether it can handle it, I don't have any experience with it
True. I understand the possible risk of the pump not handeling the rad. I guess it'd be a good reason to by a loop at that point.
ill use the rad in the full loop either way.
Anyways, are there any other good CPU blocks that are cheaper? Just no chrome or copper. Want black/blue scheme.

The blue/black scheme is pretty much unique to the Supreme. You could go for a Swiftech Apogee XT and spray paint the bracket black though, that's been done with good results before. Or the XSPC Rasa block comes in an all black version I believe, it's a middle of the pack performer though. Check out Skinnee Lab's CPU block roundup for good insights/pics/data on many current blocks for more info than I have offhand. That's where I look anyway
Great news!! Just got reimbursed for college tuition and books.
some extra money I normally wouldn't have. I guess the CPU block pump and rad it is.
Still up in the air about tubing.
One more thing. A drive bay ress. Can they have inlet on top and exit out the back? Because if I have a 360 rad up top, I would have the out on the rad go directly down to he top of the ress. Sorry for lack of illustration, been responding on my phone

Not totally sure. Usually they have a threaded hole on the top, but with a flush mounted fillport, the theory being that you can slide the res out the front to fill. If you add the return line up there, then obviously that doesn't work. You may also find that as the water level drops, the res will start to burble and make other watery noisy from the returning water splashing in. This can either be soothing or annoying haha. I'm a T-line guy myself, but lots of people use bay res'. A single-bay res/top combo for a 350 would be pretty slick, you can always add a 90 off the back for your return line to go straight up if you want.
my 655 works great and I have no noise issues at all even when turned up to full speed
you just have to make sure you bleed all the air out of the system
the 35x are nice pumps but at 1200l/ph I really love my 655
you could go with the xspc 750 pump res combo unit it does 750l/ph and its what he rasa kit is based around

That's my feeling too, I've never had a 355, but I've never had a single issue or noticeable flaw with my 655, and it is dead silent, I feel them every so often to make sure they're still running
I'm rethinking the idea of the bay res. What are good red's for 5.25 and non bay?
Also, how big of a res would I need? I see 150ml and 400ml
